FMAudit Announces Automation Technology to Identify and Collect Meters of Locally Connected Printers
August 15th, 2005 The FMAudit product family quickly and easily captures print asset data, including meter counts, from all LAN and/or WAN connected print devices, and delivers invaluable reporting tools for corporate planning and implementation of a more cost effective and productive print strategy. The patent-pending FMAudit Agent module enables the collection of locally (workstation) connected print asset data. It is not an application, rather a passive service. It resides on the client’s workstation, and only activates upon request, when performing an audit through the FMAudit Viewer or FMAudit On-Site applications. The FMAudit Agent communicates with the local device, collects the data, feeds it into Viewer or On-Site software, and automatically shuts back down. Depending on the quantity of workstations and end-user preference, the FMAudit Agent is deployed manually, through scripting, and/or SMS. “The public release of FMAudit Agent represents a significant milestone in our product development strategy.
